Why?
Because I had the misconception I could convert everyday people to enthusiastic real estate investors over the course of a 30-minute presentation. To my credit, it was a highly compelling, action-packed half hour, but I was asking for the impossible.
In short, I fell for the biggest myth of the real estate sector: If you have a good enough deal, the money just shows up somehow.
And because of that, I FAILED MISERABLY.
(And by failed miserably, I mean I didn’t raise a single dollar on my first real attempt at raising capital.)
